Facelift/Necklift

The natural effects of aging usually become visible on our faces first. They include noticeable deep creases between the nose and mouth, a jowly jawline, and folds and fat deposits that form around the neck. A facelift, also known as “rhytidectomy,” is a cosmetic procedure that can help you appear more refreshed and youthful-looking. This procedure involves the correction of sagging cheeks and the removal of excess neck fat, as well as the trimming and tightening of facial skin to create a more defined contour.

A necklift procedure, which can be performed alone or in conjunction with a facelift, is done to further enhance the appearance of a patient’s profile. In this type of surgery, excess fat and skin are removed or altered to reduce their aging effects and the sagging of specific facial and neck muscles is corrected.

Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)

Technically known as “blepharoplasty,” eyelid surgery can also help to reverse the effects of aging by giving you a brighter-eyed appearance. Patients who choose to enhance their looks through this procedure are usually at least 35 years old, although some may be younger.

Eyelid surgery can help to correct features that make you look older than you are – or than you feel – by removing fat along with excess skin and muscle. This procedure can be performed on the upper eyelid, lower eyelid, or both, depending on your condition. For an Asian patient desiring a more defined upper eyelid crease, blepharoplasty can enhance appearance without eliminating natural ethnic qualities.

Blepharoplasty can be combined with other facial surgical procedures like a facelift or even a browlift. Yet this surgery will not remove facial wrinkles like crow’s feet, lift sagging eyebrows, or eliminate dark circles under a patient’s eyes.

Lip Augmentation

Many people believe that full lips are a unique sign of beauty. So at the office of Dr. Mess, a patient can choose from injectables like Restylane® or fat transfer. Lip augmentation can be done to plump up either or both lips, depending on the patient’s wishes. The results of these injections are typically temporary, so periodic, follow-up sessions may be required to maintain long-lasting success.

Lip augmentation can also reduce fine wrinkles around the mouth, depending on your condition and goals. Regardless of age, many people prefer the appearance of full lips.
