Breast Augmentation With Lift

Breast augmentation can dramatically improve the appearance of your breasts for a more feminine, full look. Breast augmentation surgery is used by women all over the world to get the breast size they’ve always wanted, but size is only one factor in designing an aesthetically pleasing breast. To get the nipple position, areola size, and “perky breasts” you want, you may need a breast augmentation with lift. Dr. Sarah Mess specializes in augmentation lifts and has helped countless women improve their confidence and self-esteem.

Breast augmentation combined with a breast lift, can reposition, lift, and tighten breast tissue and remove excess skin for a perkier appearance. Both procedures can be used separately to enhance the appearance of the breasts or address other issues, such as sagging or drooping. But when combined, a breast augmentation with lift often leads to full, firm breasts and a long-lasting outcome.

BREAST AUGMENTATION WITH LIFT PROCEDURE

A breast augmentation is performed by inserting implants to enhance the size and shape of the breasts. Patients can choose the type of implant used, size, shape, and texture to reach their aesthetic goals. Dr. Mess offers both saline and silicone implants for breast augmentation. Round, high-profile implants can be used to create a fuller appearance and increase projection, while teardrop-shaped implants can create a more natural look.

Once the size, shape, and type of implant are chosen, patients can choose where the implants should be placed within the chest. Implants can be placed under the pectoral muscle, known as submuscular placement, or over the muscle, referred to as subglandular placement. Incisions around the areola and along the crease underneath the breast are used to place the implant. Dr. Mess will also remove excess skin and tissue. Once finished, breast size is enhanced and breast tissue is lifted and tightened. The nipple and areolas may be moved for an overall improved look.

IDEAL CANDIDATES FOR BREAST AUGMENTATION WITH LIFT

Breast augmentation with lift is ideal for any woman who is looking to increase the size of her breasts while also addressing concerns like sagging or drooping. This procedure can:

  • Correct asymmetrical or abnormally-shaped breasts
  • Enhance breasts after pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Lift and tighten sagging breasts
  • Enhance cleavage
  • Improve the balance of chest and hip contours
  • Boost self-esteem and confidence

Women who are done having children are ideal candidates for a breast augmentation with lift. Many are looking for a way to address changes to their body caused by pregnancy or breastfeeding. Candidates for breast augmentation with lift should be in good physical condition and have a realistic view of what to expect from the procedure.

Recovery After Your Breast Augmentation with Lift

The length of recovery after a breast augmentation with lift will depend on many factors, each as varied and unique as the patients who seek it. Dr. Mess will apply bandages and a compression garment to support breasts during the healing process.

Many patients are able to go back to work within a week after the surgery. By three weeks, most of the swelling should have resolved, and by six weeks, patients should be able to resume exercise or other physical activities.

Patients will have soreness and swelling of the breasts right after surgery. For a quicker recovery, patients are encouraged to do the following:

Immediately after: There will be some discomfort and pain. Dr. Mess will typically prescribe a pain medication to help treat any symptoms.

1 week: Patients should get as much rest as they can. Strenuous physical activity should be avoided and extra care should be taken with the breasts and general area. Ice packs can help alleviate any swelling or discomfort.

3 weeks: While much of the swelling might have subsided by this point, strenuous physical activity or exercise should still be avoided to encourage faster healing.

6 weeks: Patients should be well on their way to complete recovery by this point. A follow-up appointment with Dr. Mess should be scheduled to ensure the procedure went well and healing is going smoothly.

Results

Breast augmentation produces larger breasts right away, but most patients will not see the final outcome until healing is complete. Once fully recovered, patients can enjoy fuller breasts that look and feel lush and natural. Combining a breast augmentation with a lift is a great way to increase size and shape without the need for larger implants, as the lift helps project the breasts as well. For many patients, a breast augmentation with lift is the perfect combination needed to get perky, full breasts for a more feminine, youthful look.
