Every man and woman wants to tone and sculpt their midsection, buttocks, and thighs to achieve a look that consists of less fat and more muscle. Unfortunately, not everyone has the time or the ability to build that kind of muscle no matter how many hours they spend at the gym. Most all body contouring procedures focus on fat reduction, and treatments like CoolSculpting® actually deliver on that promise, but fat reduction alone is not going to give you muscle definition and a toned midsection. All that is about to change. Dr. Mess is now proud to offer Emsculpt® to her patients as an alternative to other surgical and non-surgical body contouring procedures. Emsculpt® trims, firms, and sculpts the abdomen, buttocks, and thighs by disrupting the fat cells while building muscle fibers. This non-invasive procedure is the next step in body contouring.
What Is Emsculpt® Technology?
Emsculpt® uses HIFEM®, which is High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic energy to induce intense muscle contractions. This energy triggers the supramaximal muscles to contract in a way that goes far beyond what regular exercise can achieve. During treatment, these electromagnetic energy pulses cause the muscles to release chemicals that signal the fat cells to break down. They are then metabolized and naturally removed from the body while forcing the muscles to thicken and strengthen. The combination of these two occurrences allows for the remodeling of the abdomen, thighs, or buttocks to reveal a sculpted, firm core.
Alternative Procedures to Emsculpt®
Tummy Tuck surgery is ideal for patients who require more extensive correction of excess skin and fat along the abdomen. Abdominal muscles are also tightened during this procedure.
Liposuction removes fat surgically using a vacuum device and a hollow tube. The procedure can be performed on many areas of the body and is best for patients who desire the removal of fat deposits that may be too big for less invasive treatments.
CoolSculpting® freezes and eliminates fat cells in areas such as the abdomen and thighs for patients who desire a more contoured silhouette but who only need minimal correction.
Ideal Candidates for Emsculpt®
Emsculpt® is a non-invasive body contouring procedure that can benefit men and women. Candidates are physically healthy and in good shape, but have difficulty removing those final few pounds or developing significant muscle definition. Ideal candidates are those who are looking for:
- Non-surgical body contouring
- Fat reduction in the abdomen
- Muscle enhancement in the thighs, buttocks, and abdomen
- Correction of diastasis recti (abdominal muscle separation that occurs after pregnancy)
- CoolSculpting® patients looking for maximum results with added muscle definition
Patients who have a significant amount of fat or those who are pregnant or nursing are not candidates for this procedure. During your consultation, Dr. Mess can help determine if Emsculpt® can benefit you.
Why Choose Emsculpt®?
Why choose Emsculpt®? No other body contouring system reduces unwanted fat while simultaneously building muscle in the abdomen. In addition to the abdomen, Emsculpt® offers the first non-invasive butt lift to allow you to achieve a lifted, rounded, and sculpted derrière, as well as firm thighs to support your improved back side. Emsculpt® is a groundbreaking treatment, and it is pushing the boundaries of what we thought possible in body contouring.
An Emsculpt® treatment creates a series of muscle contractions into the abdomen, buttocks, or thighs to disrupt unwanted fat cells and build muscle. This treatment is performed in the office and doesn’t require any anesthesia or numbing agents. Instead, you are awake and resting comfortably on either your stomach or back (depending on the treatment area). To begin, the technician attaches an Emsculpt® panel to the targeted area. From here, varying patterns of the High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic energy are delivered through the panels, causing your muscles to contract at an extreme rate. Emsculpt® patients’ muscles contract around 20,000 times per treatment session. Emsculpt® treatments are not painful. They take 30 minutes to complete, and you definitely feel the treatment working. For optimal results, it is recommended that patients undergo four sessions spaced two to three days apart.
What is the recovery period for Emsculpt®?
Emsculpt® is a non-surgical and non-invasive body contouring procedure. There is no downtime associated with the treatment, and you can return to your normal day-to-day activities immediately following Emsculpt®. While the procedure itself is painless, you may experience soreness in the treatment area for a day or two, just as if you experienced a high-intensity workout.
When will I see my results?
Patients receive four treatment sessions over a two-week period for each package. Some patients begin to notice improvement as soon as a couple of weeks after their initial treatment. Substantial results are typically visible in four to six weeks after patients complete their package and results can continue to improve for up to six months post treatment. Patients can book additional Emsculpt® packages four to six months after their initial treatment to make sure their firm and strong abdomen, buttocks, and thighs remain that way.
Is this procedure safe?
Yes, Emsculpt® is FDA approved for body contouring on the abdomen, thighs, and buttocks region. There have been no reports of significant side effects, and the procedure is safe and comfortable. Patients can expect to experience some soreness and discomfort in the initial days; however, these will dissipate shortly after treatment.
How much weight will I lose?
Emsculpt® is a supplement to an active and healthy lifestyle. Just as any other body contouring procedure, Emsculpt® is not a substitute for weight loss and will not result in the loss of a significant amount of pounds. On average, patients experience a 19 percent reduction of fat and a 16 percent increase in muscle fibers.
