RENUVION J-Plasma (Face)
Revolutionary Renuvion™/J-Plasma® can transform aged, lax skin without the drawbacks and discomfort associated with major surgery. Renuvion™ is a minimally invasive procedure that produces stunning facial rejuvenation and skin resurfacing with plasma technology. Dr. Sarah Mess continues to lead the industry in groundbreaking and innovative technologies, and her practice is the first in Maryland to offer Renuvion™/J-Plasma®. Our office services the Columbia, MD, Washington, DC, and Baltimore, MD, areas.
What Is Plasma Technology?
Renuvion™ delivers cold plasma energy beneath or above the surface of the skin, tightening and smoothing the target area. Radiofrequency energy is used to ionize helium gas, creating sophisticated and controlled cold plasma energy that is less likely to result in tissue damage than other energy based facial rejuvenation approaches. This advanced technology triggers collagen production and promotes skin contraction. When used for resurfacing treatment, Renuvion™/J-Plasma® can remove damaged layers of skin, revealing a healthier, firmer surface.
Ideal Candidates for Renuvion™/J-Plasma®
Patients who suffer from facial skin laxity or extensive sun damage and wrinkles and desire a radiant transformation may consider undergoing a Renuvion™/J-Plasma® procedure. Ideal candidates for this treatment can relate to any of the following cosmetic concerns:
- Lack of jawline definition
- Facial wrinkles
- Fine lines around the eyes
- Perioral wrinkles
Dr. Mess will analyze your condition and consider your aesthetic goals to determine if you can benefit from treatment with Renuvion™/J-Plasma®.
Why Choose Renuvion™/J-Plasma®?
Simply put, Renuvion™/J-Plasma results rival those of a surgical facelift but with a fraction of the downtime. The results are that good. Renuvion™/J-Plasma can achieve these results with minimal scars and minimal downtime, so patients can enjoy their results in days instead of weeks. Many patients have the procedure on a Thursday or Friday and are back at work on Monday. Renuvion™/J-Plasma procedures are performed with local anesthesia, so it is the ideal facial rejuvenation procedure for patients concerned about lengthy recovery or the use of general anesthesia.
The Renuvion™/J-Plasma® Treatment
Renuvion™/J-Plasma® utilizes advanced radiofrequency (RF) technology and ionized helium plasma to tighten the skin and trigger new cell regeneration. Local anesthesia is administered before the procedure to ensure total patient comfort throughout the process. Depending on the desired results, Dr. Mess will create a few small incisions to access the target area. The Renuvion™/J-Plasma® probe is inserted through these incisions to provide skin tightening and rejuvenation beneath the dermis. The device may also be applied to the surface of the skin for optimal skin resurfacing effects.
What can I expect during recovery after Renuvion™/J-Plasma® treatment?
Unlike more invasive procedures, patients who opt for Renuvion™/J-Plasma® sub-dermal treatment will not have to give up normal activities for an extended period. Most patients can resume their usual routine within a few days of their treatment. Dr. Mess may recommend wearing a compression garment to promote healing and reduce swelling. Patients may experience some minor pain or tightness following their procedure, but any discomfort can typically be managed with over-the-counter medication. Some of the common side effects may include:
- Redness or pinkness
How Much Does Renuvion™/J-Plasma® Cost?
The cost of every Renuvion™/J-Plasma® treatment varies from patient-to-patient depending on the extent of correction required and areas being treated. During your in-person consultation with Dr. Mess’s practice in Columbia, you will receive an individual price estimate that reflects your unique procedure.
How should I prepare for treatment with Renuvion™/J-Plasma®?
Before your scheduled procedure, you will be provided with detailed preparation and aftercare instructions tailored to your treatment plan. It is recommended that you stop taking blood-thinning medications and supplements, including aspirin and green tea, several weeks before your Renuvion™/J-Plasma® appointment to minimize the risk of complications.
When will I see the results of my Renuvion™/J-Plasma® procedure?
Sub-dermal Renuvion™/J-Plasma® patients see immediate improvement in the first three days and continued improvement over the next several weeks as the target area heals. Renuvion™/J-Plasma® resurfacing patients should plan for four or more weeks of recovery.
