At any given time, only a fraction of your hair is in the active growth stage. That’s why you need multiple treatments spaced apart by a minimum of four weeks to remove all the hair from that area. Preparing for Laser Hair Removal
Certain activities and products should be avoided in advance of your Laser Hair Removal treatment in order to get the best results:
DO NOT pluck, wax, or tweeze hair during Laser Hair Removal treatments as this will interfere with the growth phase of the hair and will negatively affect your outcome. Clipping or shaving are the only approved methods of hair control between treatments.
DO NOT use bronzer, tanning sprays, tinted creams and/or moisturizers for at least two weeks before your appointment.
DO NOT sit in the sun or visit tanning beds for at least two weeks before your appointment
DO NOT use any cosmetics or makeup on the day of your Laser Hair Removal appointment.
DO NOT use Retin-A or similar medications for at least one week leading up to your appointment.
DO NOT use Accutane for at least three months prior to your appointment.
Recovery & Aftercare for Laser Hair Removal
When your Laser Hair Removal treatment is complete, we’ll provide you ice packs and an anti-inflammatory cream to ease any discomfort. For several days following your Laser Hair Removal session, you may find that the treated area looks and feels like a sunburn. We recommend applying cool compresses and a moisturizer to help with any unpleasant sensations. If hair on your face was targeted, refrain from wearing makeup directly following your treatment session, for at least 12 hours. After that, makeup is permitted unless you find that your skin is blistering. It’s important to apply sunscreen of SPF 30 or above daily in the month following your Laser Hair Removal treatment to protect the treated area from skin discoloration and irritation from sun exposure. You can plan to return to your normal routine immediately following treatment. You can optimize your Laser Hair Removal treatment results by doing the following:
DO apply cool compresses to the treatment site reduce unpleasant sensations
DO apply moisturizer to the treatment site to relieve stinging or itching
DO keep skin makeup free for 12 hours following your treatment if your face was targeted
DO apply sunscreen of SPF 30 or above daily
DO cover the treated skin with protective clothing to avoid sun damage
DO return to your normal routine after your treatment
